4 Day Camping Safari: Liwonde National Park & Lake Malawi

Liwonde National Park is one of Malawi’s best parks for animal sightings which could include; Elephant, Hippo, Buffalo, Kudu, Sable, Roan, Bushbuck, Impala, and Baboon, plus fantastic birdlife. In the park there is a Rhino sanctuary which offers a good chance to see them (at an extra cost). There is also the beautiful Shire River to explore.
Itinerary
Day 1: Lilongwe - Liwonde National Park
We will pick you up from your hotel/lodge/campsite at 7.30am and drive you
to Liwonde National Park in time for a yummy lunch. After
setting up camp you will be taken on an afternoon game drive
to explore the many tracks in the park. Dinner at camp and then time to
sit around the campfire with a drink before bed. Lunch/dinner included.
Camping
Day 2: Liwonde National Park
After a good breakfast another game drive awaits, then
you will return back to camp for a relaxing lunch before you go on a boat
safari on the Shire River, this is one of the best ways to see
Crocs , Hippos, birdlife and also other mammals that come to the river to
drink. Back to the camp for dinner and time to recall the day around the
campsite. Breakfast/lunch/dinner included.
Camping
Day 3: Lake Malawi
Today starts with breakfast and then into the park for a game drive.
After lunch you will be driven to Lake Malawi. You will
be staying in the Nkopola area which is only a short drive
from the park. There will be time for you to go for a swim or maybe take
the campsite boat out. Breakfast/lunch/dinner included.
Camping
Day 4: Lake Malawi
After breakfast you will have the rest of the morning to spend on the lake
or explore the neighbouring fishing village. Lunch will be at the campsite
then you will be driven back to Lilongwe. Trip ends back
at your chosen hotel/lodge/campsite.
